DMP chief orders tighter security at Dhaka entry points to curb crime
DMP chief calls for closer coordination among CTTC, DB and police stations
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed has ordered tighter security at the capital's entry points and other key areas to curb crime.
The commissioner said police must strengthen security measures, including block checks, at entry points and other important locations to prevent criminals from entering Dhaka from remote and other parts of the country to commit crimes.
He issued the directives to senior DMP officials at the monthly crime review meeting at DMP Headquarters today (14 September).

He instructed officers to take legal action against suspected individuals and monitor their movements before they can commit offences.
He also stressed the importance of collecting, analysing and promptly using intelligence to prevent crime.
Mosleh directed all police personnel to carry out their assigned duties properly to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
He said the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, Detective Branch (DB) and police stations must work in coordination.
Police should also divide areas among teams for duty to prevent security gaps and ensure continuous coverage.
The commissioner also instructed police to regularly collect and preserve guest lists from hotels, including residential hotels, and ensure the information can be retrieved quickly when necessary.
At the meeting, the DMP commissioner also rewarded officials of different ranks in several categories for their performance in maintaining law and order, controlling crime and ensuring public safety in August.
