Police say the ward-level Awami League leader was wanted in two cases and sustained fatal injuries while attempting to evade arrest.
A local leader of the activities banned Awami League died in Barishal yesterday (21 June) while allegedly trying to flee from police during an arrest operation.
The deceased was Rashed Khan Menon, general secretary of ward no-1 Awami League in Barishal metropolitan area, confirmed Kaunia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sanjit Chandra Nath.
The incident occurred around 3:30pm in the Kaunia area of the city.

According to police and local residents, officers launched an operation at around 3pm to arrest Rashed at his residence.
