The Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) initially permitted 10 official markets last week, which will remain open until the day of Eid.
However, a CCC official noted that authorities might approve two additional makeshift locations due to the high volume of livestock and the availability of open space.

To ensure the health of the livestock, veterinarians are stationed at the markets to conduct physical examinations of incoming animals.
Livestock trucks continue to arrive in the city daily from various parts of the country.
While the markets are well-stocked, early buyers have noted that prices are noticeably higher than last year.
Sellers attribute the price hike to a sharp rise in animal feed costs and transportation expenses.
Although trading started slowly, vendors expect sales to surge significantly over the final 24 hours.
