Ctg madrasah principal held in case over rape of 8-year-old student
The accused also allegedly threatened the victim not to disclose the incident.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested the principal of a madrasah in Chattogram's Banshkhali upazila in a case filed over the alleged rape of an eight-year-old male student.
The suspect, Mohammad Ramiz Uddin, 31, principal of Banshkhali Daruchchunnah Khairia Madrasah, was arrested during a raid in the Bairag area near the Karnaphuli Tunnel's China Road in the neighbouring Anwara upazila yesterday (3 August), said a RAB-7 press release issued today.
According to the case statement, the child had been enrolled in the madrasah's Nazera section around six to seven months ago.

It alleges that the accused repeatedly took the student to the madrasah's washroom and sexually assaulted him.
The latest alleged incident took place on 23 July, when the teacher reportedly called the child to a room on the second floor of the madrasah's Hifz section after classes and raped him.
The accused also allegedly threatened the victim not to disclose the incident.
After returning home, the child reportedly broke down in tears and refused to return to the madrasah.
Upon being questioned by his mother, he disclosed the alleged abuse, prompting the family to file a case at Banshkhali Police Station on 29 July.
RAB said it traced the accused to his hideout in Anwara before carrying out the arrest.
The accused was later turned over to Banshkhali Police Station for further legal proceedings.
