She commenced her final summit push on 25 May, moving upwards from Camp-2, which is situated at an altitude of 6,400 metres, to spend the night at Camp-3 at an elevation of 7,200 metres
Bangladeshi female mountaineer Nurunnaher Nimni has successfully scaled the summit of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, scripting a glorious new chapter in the country's mountaineering history.
Nimni reached the highest point of the world today (27 May) at 5:24am (Nepal local time), where she proudly hoisted the red and green national flag of Bangladesh.
The historic achievement was officially confirmed by Ang Temba Sherpa on behalf of the expedition management agency, 8K Expedition.
According to an official press release issued by Ikramul Hasan Shakil, an Everest summitteer himself and the current president of the Bangla Mountaineering and Trekking Club, Nimni's final ascent followed a meticulous high-altitude itinerary.
She commenced her final summit push on 25 May, moving upwards from Camp-2, which is situated at an altitude of 6,400 metres, to spend the night at Camp-3 at an elevation of 7,200 metres.
Early the following morning, yesterday, she departed from Camp-3 and arrived at Camp-4 by 2:30pm.
After taking necessary rest at Camp-4 until the evening, Nimni launched her ultimate journey toward the peak, trekking through highly hazardous and hostile terrain all night alongside her expedition partners, Dawa Nupu Sherpa and Lakpa Thinduk Sherpa, before safely reaching the apex at dawn.
The successful expedition caps off weeks of intense preparation for the climber, who had originally departed Dhaka for Nepal on 11 April.
The historic Everest expedition was organised by the Bangla Mountaineering and Trekking Club, with corporate sponsorship provided entirely by Pubali Bank PLC.
This unique achievement adds a brilliant milestone to the legacy of Bangladeshi adventure sports, bringing immense pride to the nation.

Her transition to professional mountaineering began after trekking to Everest Base Camp in 2020.
She completed formal training at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling, India, in 2022, and subsequently joined the Bangla Mountaineering and Trekking Club, under whose banner she launched her successful 2026 Everest expedition.

MA Mohit conquered the peak twice, in 2011 and 2012, followed by the dual triumphs of Nishat Majumdar and Wasfia Nazreen in 2012.
On 20 May 2013, the country's fifth summitteer, Sajal Khaled, tragically perished during his descent from the peak.
After an 11-year gap, Babar Ali hoisted the Bangladeshi flag on the summit in 2024, followed by Ikramul Hasan Shakil in 2025, who notably travelled on foot from Cox's Bazar beach to the Everest summit before Nimni secured her solo victory this year.
