2 juvenile suspects to be sent to correctional centre in Apratim murder case
“Two of them, both juveniles, will be sent to the Tongi Juvenile Development Centre in Gazipur today,” he said.
Four people, including three suspects directly involved in the murder of schoolboy Ishiyat Shahriar Apratim in Cumilla and another arrested on suspicion, have been sent to Cumilla Central Jail.
However, two of the four, Mozammel Hossain Fahad, 15, and Kamrul Hasan, 16, will be sent to a juvenile correctional centre in Gazipur due to their age, SI Md Saiful Islam, the investigating officer in the murder case and of Sadar Dakshin Model Police Station confirmed.
"We handed over all four accused to the Cumilla jail authorities. The court today authorised the transfer of Fahad and Kamrul to a correctional centre. The other two accused, Tuhin, 19, and Siam, 19, will remain in Cumilla Central Jail," he said.

Cumilla Central Jail Senior Jail Superintendent Md Shah Alam Khan said police handed over the four accused to the jail authorities last night in connection with the murder case.
"Two of them, both juveniles, will be sent to the Tongi Juvenile Development Centre in Gazipur today," he said.
Earlier in the afternoon, Cumilla Superintendent of Police Md Anisuzzaman said at a press conference that Apratim was killed while attempting to snatch his mobile phone.
Meanwhile, three of the four accused, excluding Siam, gave confessional statements before the court last night, said Mohammad Sadekur Rahman, court police inspector.
Apratim, 13, was the son of Dr Nahida Begum, an associate professor of the Department of Bangla at Cumilla University.
His body was recovered on Saturday afternoon (19 September) from a forested area in Lalmai Sananda Pahar, adjacent to the university campus.
He had gone missing on Friday (18 September).
